George Potter is standing in the Guildford East division for the Liberal Democrats. Potter has lived in Guildford for the last 8 years and graduated from Surrey University to fix the “financial chaos created by the Conservative administration at Surrey County Council“. He has promised to get a better value for money for taxpayers and to protect public services from cuts. Potter also wants better road repairs as well as protecting the budgets for schools and libraries.
Potter is standing on a mainly financial ticket — all of his issues centre on costs such as the property portfolio that is being “badly managed” to the point where it made a loss of £315 000. Potter also mentions the dislike of the policy to introduce parking charges at Newlands Corner.
